Using tags in hotlist criteria

I've solved my issues with priorities by using a series of numbered tags. I basically decide if the project is a 1, 2 or 3 priority among all and decide what sequence the tasks need to be done in order, starting with that priority. If it's a priority 2 project I tag the first task 2 then sequentially on down. Then I do sorts for all folders by tag so I can review all my 1's & 2's to see what things should happen today & this week. If I could use tags in my hotlist criteria this would make the hotlist much more useful to me. In the GTD style you don't want to have to give everything a priority & due date. You only put due dates on those things that have to be done on that day. If you could choose your criteria using priorities, dates & tags we could really customize a system that works for many situations. I love Toodledo by the way!
