have come back from holiday to find that a load of completed tasks have been resurrected on my ipad. I then made the mistake of syncing, and now they are on the web. Short of going through and completing these tasks again, can I revert back to where by web version was about 10mins ago, and then sync my ipad with that?

You could try using our search page to do an advanced search on the modification date of tasks to find everything that was edited recently and then use the multi-edit tool to complete them or delete them.
