How to create an HTML a tag hyperlink via the email interface?

I use the Outlook protocol (a windows protocol that was dropped in 2007 but can be manually added back) to link to outlook items. I’m trying to create a link in a Toodledo Note that links to an outlook item.
Scenario #1: If I enter the following text into the Note field through the browser interface: Outlook Item This results in a hyperlink that correctly links to the href and is displayed as a blue hyperlink (Outlook Item) in the Note field. This is a desired result. However, if I try to replicate this via the email interface, I get different results (see below). Scenario #2: If I copy HTML a tag and paste it into the body of an email and email it to my toodledo account the resultant text in Toodledo is: <a href="outlook:00000000301901C1A00FD0428941843D56D0B62B0700D9539C2261A6BB45B9 DAB62C7081B3C101002200AAAA0000D9539C2261A6BB45B9DAB62C7081B3C101007BC8000000 00">Outlook Item There are no line breaks in the email send, but Toodledo introduces 3 line breaks (looks like there is a text limit of 76 bytes). The resultant Note is text only without a hyperlink. Scenario #3: If I send an HTML body email containing an HTML a tag as a hyperlink to my toodledo account, the result in Toodledo is: Outlook Item <outlook://00000000301901C1A00FD0428941843D56D0B62B0700D9539C2261A6BB45B9DAB62C7081B3C101002200AA AA0000D9539C2261A6BB45B9DAB62C7081B3C1010093C800000000> The resultant Note is text only without a hyperlink. How can I create the Toodledo task in Scenario #1 via the email interface? PS: I subsequently tried Scenario #2 with a shorter href and the hyperlink was correctly created in Toodeldo. There appears to be a character limit/bug in the email interface. Is there any way to overcome this limitation in the email interface? This message was edited Apr 03, 2015. |

I think that emails are automatically wrapped at a certain length (76 characters like you discovered). I will put this on my todo list to investigate.
