Inconstency between folder list and task list?

Why does my folders list say that folder X contains 4 tasks, but my task list has only one task listed under folder X? (I checked to see if deleted tasks explained the inconsistency, but that does not seem to be the case.

Probably due to a filter. Here is information about the various filters which can be controlled from the "Filters" section above your task list: https://www.toodledo.com/info/help.php?sel=65
To turn them off, just click on "Filters", then click the ones you want to turn off. Also at the bottom of the task list, there should be a message saying "X active tasks are hidden due to your filter settings" with an option to turn filters off after it.
