I've tunned my hotlist, to see just following items:
- with HIGH priority;
- those, that will due within upcoming 7 days

It gives me, what I want to see in hotlist section + some unwanted to see items, that require my attention just in far future, e.g. pay annual taxes on JAN 20, 2017, as it has status HIGH.

Following advice "Tasks with a future start-date will be hidden from the hotlist regardless of their priority, due-date, status or star.", I gave this task start day Jan 10, 2017, so it's hided from hotlist.

This task (pay annual taxes) is recurring with annual interval. When I'll complete it in Jan/2017, next one should appear in Jan/2018, and would be due Jan 20, 2018.

Question is, would this 2nd task (2018th) have start date of Jan 10, 2018? Or it will have Jan 10, 2017 -> so I'll have to change for such tasks start date manually to hide it from hotlist.

Thank you.
Jake

When a task repeats, both its start-date and due-date are moved forward by the same amount.
