Hi, I really, really like Toodledo, but I also really, really need excellent iCal synchrnonization. As far as I can tell, my only iCal choice with Toodledo is: All or Nothing. If I use the iCal link, I get one big calendar in iCal, with all Toodledo items lumped together (as events, not tasks).

In Backpack and in Remember the Milk, I have the option of keeping seperate calendars separate. Is there any way to do this in Toodledo? Thanks!

I think what you mean is having a different iCal link for each folder. This cannot be done yet, but it is on our todo list.

Thanks

Yes, that's what I mean. Glad to hear it's in the future!

Hi,
Can you confirm where it is now in your to do list, it's been 6 months and I don't seem to see a good bi-directional iCal integration.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Michel.

Hi Michel,

Bi-directional iCal integration is not possible because the iCal format does not allow it. It is one-direction only, unfortunately.

The lack of bi-directional iCal sync (and real SMS notification) is the only thing keeping me from switching to Toodledo. What about a small companion app that uses CoreData to sync with the primary iCal calendar?

Summoning up the original question of this thread:

Is there now a way to get an iCal event or task feed of a subset of tasks, like say just my hotlist or just things in a certain folder?

If not, can you tell us where (if at all) this feature ranks on the planned improvements list?

Thanks so much!

We don't comment on timelines or priorities, but this is still on our to-do list.

Just wanted to add my name to the list of people who would love this. Appigo's ToDo allows you to exclude certain folders from the Focus List. It would be great to be able to do that with the IPhone app as well as the GCal sync.

Yes, I also would like to see this feature added. It would be very helpful for me to have my toodledo list on my iPhone synced automatically over the air with my iCal.

Bi-directional sync IS possible in iCal Leopard - the Chandler Hub for example makes use of it.

Is there any way (soon), that Toodledo will allow 2-way sync with iCal?

Thanks for any info.

Chandler Hub is software hat you run on your computer, so it has direct access to the Calendar. Toodledo runs in the web browser, so we don't have access to your calendar's files.

no, this is incorrect. Chandler is something run on a desktop but Chandler HUB is NOT run on the desktop and open source:

I'm not familiar with Chandler Hub, so I'll have to investigate. Thanks for the tip.

I'd also like to see this added. Part of this is Appigo's fault, in that their notebook app syncs very nicely over the web with your service - it would be great to have tasks and calendars do the same rather than having to wait until physically connected or on the local network.

Thanks for your hard work guys!

I am trying to make Toodledo work with Ical and wondering about creating subtasks within certain larger projects that are events on my calendar, for example, a planned meeting from 2-4. That is a subtask that I have to complete - and I'd like it to import into Ical as an event with a time associated with it, not as an all-day event. I'm assuming there must be start time and end time fields associated with the task (in this example, the meeting) for ical to have the info it needs to place it in ical. I just can't figure it out - any help would be appreciated. thanks.

To make a task show up like you want, you use start time for the beginning, and due time for the end. Make sure you have those fields enabled in your account settings. This works quite well for me with Google Calendar, but I have heard the times do not seem to always appear correctly in other programs like Outlook.

What about CalDAV? I use CalDAV to sync Zimbra with iCal and am able to edit things in iCal and have them reflected on the Zimbra server and vice versa. Is this possible for Toodledo? If not, why?

Thanks,
Yoni

Toodledo has said they plan to support CalDAV in the future.
