Keeping track of progress towards goals is a great motivation. You can do this with “goal chains”. When you complete a task that contributes to a goal, Toodledo will keep track of it and your goal chain will get longer. Try to not break the chain!

I've said it before ("It's on our todo list", etc and so forth) but I'd love it if chains were optional like they used to be.
Most of my goals don't have activities that can be done towards them every day, so the chains are useless to me. But they take up so much space that I can't actually see my goals coherently when trying to organise them!
Goals could do with a bit of an overhaul in general really.
I like using them, but they feel disconnected from everything else, and there is no sense of importance given to them.
