Ok, I have taken a couple hours tonight to try to make a theme for TD. I based it off of a gmail theme that I like. It is far from being perfect, but it might give users an idea of what can be accomplished if we were to tackle this thing as a community.

I would love to hear your feedback.

You can also leave any specific requests for the next revision of the theme which I will be working on in the near future.

Theme can be found here: http://userstyles.org/styles/18480

Vin, awesome job. There are a few little things, like some text is almost invisible, but it looks very nice. It is still very bright in the task list area, but a great start. I would love to see a truly dark theme. Another great gmail theme that would be really cool if it could be applied to Toodledo is gmail redesigned: http://www.globexdesigns.com/gmail/
That is also not a true dark theme, but I really like it. Anyway, great job. Thanks for sharing this.

Yeah, I have to fix a lot of the styling outside of the actual to-do list. It doesn't look the greatest in the forums for example. But it's just a couple hours of work. I want to develop this over time to be a viable alternative theme.

I am a Jedi and refuse to switch to the Dark Side.

Just kidding. I think the Dark Theme looks great. I would love for more Theme support by Toodledo in the future.

Ok, I just did an update to make it look right in the forums. I haven't tested this extensively, since this is more of a personal project. But if you see anything that looks funky, let me know.

How would one use this theme?

You need to first install either stylish or greasemonkey for firefox (or another browser that can load userscripts). Then go to the link I supplied (http://tr.im/tdthm) and it will load for you. I will try to post a quick video tut tonight.

Ok, I have made yet another revision. You can download it here: http://tr.im/tdthm

I know it is not a true dark theme, but it is a little easier on the eyes. I like that it unifies my experience with gmail a bit.

Here is my gmail layout:

Very nice job on this. I do wish it were darker, but beggars can't be choosers, and it is really cool. Thanks again.

Hey Vin, two small issues.
-Sidebar toggle is gone with your theme. Not a critical issue, but it would be great if that could be worked in.
-The "box" that the task list is in with white background and grey border only extends to the right end of the screen, and anything that you must scroll horizontally to see sticks out of the box. You probably don't see this because, if I remember correctly, you don't use all that many fields. Anyway, this issue is unfortunately going to force me to go back to the default theme. If it could be fixed, that would be great, but I realize you made this primarily for yourself so I understand if you don't have time.

The toggle button should still be there. Hmm...what browser are you using?

I have updated the script so that there isn't the margin on the right. It won't make the fields go off the page now.

Hope that helps!

Sorry toggle is there. Hadn't noticed its new position. Thanks for the update. :)

Sorry, but they're still going out of the background window. In other words the white background ends, and the tasks extend into the blackness. Same with the blue theme, tasks cross out of the white, into the blue. Could it be the unusual screen resolution of my netbook?

Can you send me a screenshot of what it is doing?

Ok, I think I have worked out most of the bugs from the original version. Try updating your script and see if this helps.

Anders is having an issues with the theme on his netbook. Anyone else have this issue?

Haven't tried it yet, but this is an eye-pleasing theme.

I'm not a big light-font-on-dark-background person, but in this case it works well for making the sidebar a distinct area.

Really nice work -- looking forward to trying it out...

I have just updated the theme to include the Toodledo logo (something that was a little tricky to get into the darker theme). I also made the tabs at the top smaller so that you can get more tabs on one page without having to use the "more" dropdown.

Anders,

I have fixed this issue. It was fixed by setting the #main div to "display: inline-table". Who would have thought...

Anyway, if you want to give it another go: http://tr.im/tdthm

Let me know if you see anything else out of the ordinary.

Thanks!

OK,

So I am a little late in adopting the Dark Theme by Vin.

I am the type of person that likes options and have used Object Desktop for many years to make my Windows OS look different.

Why I waited so long to try Vin's theme, I am not sure. I am Firefox and I use just about every Google service there is. I already use the Google Redesigned add-in that switches Gmail, Gcal and Greader to a dark theme. I use another script with Stylish to make my Youtube site dark.

Now I added Toodeldo to the mix.

I just want to give some prop's to Vin for doing such a great job on this. The theme is not only pleasing to the eye, but actually brings attention to task with a due date that has passed.

This is done by changing the due date to a red box with text inside it. This is so much better than the default theme because it really catches your eye.

Vin... GREAT Job on this. I prefer themes that are not fully black because it's easier on the eyes. This theme is very close to the Google Redesign versions and that is what I love about it.

If you could copy the exact look of the Google Redesign themes, that would be awesome, but I am happy with what you already provided for us.
