I'm Very Mobile - Best GTD System/Tools?

Hey guys, I would very much like to implement GTD in my life, but the importance of having a "home base" where I have an Inbox and process it is emphasized, giving me a problem. I spend about 50% of my time in a cubicle, 20% of my time on the road in my car on various-length trips, 20% at hotels/peoples' houses/wherever I'm traveling to, and 10% at home (typically just enough time to read for an hour and then pass out for a solid 3-5hrs sleep).

After a lot of google searching, I'm not finding a lot out there that is customized to such a mobile lifestyle, short of getting an iPhone, blackberry, or palm device, which I cannot do at this time. What other tools are fitting for such a variety of environments, with no real consistent home base in which to process? What sites or blog posts out there describe an adjusted or modified GTD process that surrounds such a lifestyle?

Thanks in advance for any help!

In the absence of a mobile device, Toodledo's printable Booklet is pretty useful if you have not tried it yet.

My personal top recommendations are:
-Toodledo!
-Google Calendar
-Google Docs (although I have recently decided to give Office Live Workspace a try)
-Evernote (great inbox component, also good for reference stuff)

There are some others I really like, but many of them are likely not of interest to the majority of people. If you have any more specific needs, and you post them, I could have some more ideas.

Also if you happen to use firefox, there are several very useful addons I use daily that I would be happy to describe.

You should check out this thread as well. There's lots of good stuff in here: http://www.toodledo.com/forums/4/97/0/apps-you-use-on-a-daily-basis.html

I just read this part of your post.

These all have good stuff, but cover a broader range of topics, so you will have to look around:
http://lifehacker.com/
http://zenhabits.net/
http://www.43folders.com/

And here is just a big list of webapps, etc. that you can look through:

Thanks for the references! I do have all of those in Google Reader, which I check multiple times hourly :) I love lifehacker, which is actually how I came to find the GTD thought process.

In what you quoted me there, I was referring more to "Here's how I modified the GTD process based on my always-mobile lifestyle".

I'll post again when I have more time with more explicit details on my needs and my lifestyle.

Thanks for the reply!

I use Jott(phone to text) to Toodledo.

I can quickly call in the task and then use Toodledo on my mobile to assign folders, context etc. if I need to.

You can also use Toodledo to create RSS feeds of your differnt lists and you can call Jott and have them read back to you by a computer. (as well as your LifeHacker feed. sweeeeet!)

I use a dry erase marker to make notes on my car window while driving and then call in a bunch of toodledo tasks all at once.

I print the toodle booklet in the morning.

I also use a voice recorder as one of my inboxes.I can review its contents via headphones while calling it in to Jott. Gets through it fast.

About $4/mnth for Jott, max 15 seconds per task, which is plenty of time.I have the upgraded Toodledo account.

Even when I'm at my computer I'm starting to use Jott to create my Toodledo tasks via Skype. Beats typing :)

Rarely a pen or PC used during the day and still running very GTD'ish

Hope this helps, do share...

I am using a Netbook to access my Toodledo account and it's been working out great! When my Palm died I resorted to pen and paper but now the Netbook is my primary tool. I purchased my Netbook from Verizon for $199.00.
