Posted already in news forum, but thanks again for the super fast response on the feature request. This new feature is awesome and even better than what I was looking for!

Patrick

Hello,

It would be great if there was a way to quickly and easily toggle between the Grid and Multi-line views. Would you please add "toggle view" to the toggle bar?

I find multi-line better when I'm in doing mode, but grid works great for reviewing, etc.

Thanks!

"I could make a folder per type of work (bus. consulting/SEO) with clients underneath, but some clients are in both"

I'd recommend choosing this option. For individual clients, use tags to combine ALL tasks related to each specific client in 1 view.

I primarily use the folders Bills, Work, Personal, and Career. If I am taking a several week class or working on a detailed project, I will create a temporary folder for it and then delete the folder when everything is done.

Hi,

Please add the ability to star tasks while entering into the Firefox plugin. Thanks.

From Topic: Tags? How?

Go to account settings and edit "Fields Used". You can add the Tags field there (and any other fields too).

September 8th according to FAQ at Jott's website. There may be a workaround via twitter or something.

For sequencing, try using Time Due, ie. 1:01am, 1:02am, etc. Works great!

Putting in a Due Time for subtask sequencing works great for me, ie. 1:01am, 1:02am, 1:03am, etc. You can do this with or without dates attached.

I can't wait until subtask dependencies are implemented within toodledo. At this point, I think it is the biggest thing missing from the app. I don't think a good workaround exists, I am going to start toying around with stars for awhile and see how that goes.

Not yet, but I bet it'll happen sometime in the future... it's been requested before.

As a temporary work around, I am able to manually sort using start times. ie. set one group of similar subtasks to 1:01am, set another group to 1:02am, etc. I don't believe that a start date or due date is necessary.

You can make the main task recurring as well, and it will contain the recurring subtasks!

Thanks for pointing this out! I thought I read otherwise somewhere and never bothered to test that out... maybe it's time to start completing recurring projects. ;)

I realize that there are a few projects that I do on a periodic basis that have a specific set of subtasks which I would love to be able to memorize as a "group" and schedule regularly. One instance of this would be my yard tractor maintenance which includes oil change, blade sharpening, lubrication, etc. It sucks having to re-create the Top-level item (with .project context) and then each of the subtasks. Having the option to memorize the group of tasks and schedule that would be GREAT!

You can totally do this - just make each of the subtasks repeating items. Marking off the main task as complete makes all the subtasks go bye-bye I think, so just don't mark the main task off. If you need to mark it as complete for tracking purposes, as a workaround you can just create a new task with the same name and mark it as complete. This is what I do - minus the workaround because I only care about the recurring subtasks.

Hope this helps.

Me too, I agree with jdoree above... the current naming convention works perfectly fine. Plus if you need a reminder, just mouse over the tab as mentioned above, and the description pops up.

If you start using names like "7 to 14 days" or "7-14", I think it might make the interface look uglier although technically more accurate - my thoughts.

Toodledo -

You may want to remove the "Hide Future Tasks" setting under Account Settings since it has no function anymore... or does it still affect tasks without start dates? << edit: just tried it and looks like it doesn't >>

Much more functional with this latest fix vs. work arounds. Thanks!

eSwami - I'm running on Windows Mobile 6.0 and Internet Explorer. www.toodledo.com/html/ works very well for me, but I can't do anything on the slim interface besides look at the first screen.

If you haven't already, you might want to try and see if that url will work for you and suits your needs. Not ideal, but bearable when on the go unless you you want to give synching via outlook a whirl.

Still a bit too complicated IMHO..

Again, what is the meaning of a "start date" for a task if not "I can't/don't want to do this until ../../.., please keep it out of my sight/mind till then "

lol - you are right, way too complicated. But I do think this needs to happen in the filters bar. In keeping with the current Filters interface, a "Hide Future Start Dates" toggle.

When in doing mode, yes it would be preferred to not need to see tasks with start dates in the future. But I want to easily and quickly be able to look at the whole picture when I am in planning mode, which may happen several times per day.

BTW, maybe now that Toodledo has a start date feature, this old setting should be renamed to "Hide tasks due in more than :".

And create another view/tab for "current / future / current + future", according to start date.

Another idea is to add an additional filter to the Filters bar/menu...

Maybe something like a "Limit Start Date to Today" checkbox which shows all tasks with start dates today and before + all tasks without start dates.

Or a drop-down menu with "Limit to Start Date:" (1) None, (2) Today (includes today and before + no start date), (3) Tomorrow (inculdes tomorrow and before + no start date), and (4) All future (tomorrow + only).

Anyhow, I'm sure this area of Toodledo will be addressed sometime in the near future.
