From Topic: Windows 7 security
I'm in the process of reinstalling Windows 7 (again) to get my computer working right. I want this installation to be as streamlined as possible, meaning avoiding the use of third party utilities as much as possible. I've always used third party firewall and antivirus programs instead of Window's own, but I'm wondering if that's really necessary. What is the consensus regarding the quality and security of Windows 7 native firewall and other security software? |

Hello, I use OneNote as my catchall program where I throw everything that I don't know what to do with right at the moment and then sort it out later. I just recently also discovered Instapaper. Great program for reading stuff later when you have time |

From Topic: Sync Protocol
After a very short tryout period, I have decided that TD is the program I'm going to be using using as my task manager. Well thought through and not too complicated, I like it. However, since I need to do a lot of scheduling, Outlook, for better or worse will have to be my goto program on a day to day basis. I also use my i-phone a lot, both to input and to keep track of tasks. Right now I use appigo as my sync service. It only sort of works. How do I need to set it up so TD, Outlook and my iphone all end up on the same page? I also installed the Toodledo sync tool but I'm not really sure it works right. Thanks in advance for any help |

I found the "pomodoro" system a great way to focus and increase productivity. GTD and TD help me determine "what" needs doing. Pomodoro helps me get it done. Check out http://www.pomodorotechnique.com/index.html There is a free pdf e-book explaining the system, but the basic technique can be learned in five minutes and it is a very effective time management tool. There is also an online forum which is very useful |
