User Larry2 posed this question in August:

"I'm assuming that if it can't find my email address (here: https://toodledo.chargebeeportal.com/portal/v2/login?forward=portal_main) then I don't have a current subscription?

I thought I'd read that those with old Silver+ subscriptions would not be auto renew until they signed up under one of the new plans. I trust that's why it can't find my email address because I still have a Silver plan."

I’m in the same situation.

Can anyone confirm that if your email-adres (= username in TD) is not on file with Chargebee that TD won’t be able to automatically renew my subscription?

Have a look around elsewhere in the Forum. E.g. in the Questions-threaded named "Are Help Tickets being processed?”. The answer to that question seems to be “no” in recent years.

Someone in the discussion below the article mentions https://www.nirvanahq.com/ It looks really nice. And at $30/yr or $50/forever...

FYI: There seem to be some concerns (in this forum and elsewhere) with Nirvana’s frequency of updates (sounds slightly familiar), but one user on Reddit claims he/she sees regular updates occurring with the Mac-app.

I am a fan of the folks over at Asian Efficiency, so with Toodledo crashing down around me, I was thrilled to discover that they had recently reviewed pros/cons of various GTD-based apps.
Enjoy! http://www.asianefficiency.com/technology/best-gtd-apps/

I’m evaluating Todoist right now (including the free https://kanban.ist/ ). What I did notice right away is that it lacks the grid-like view from Toodledo that allows you to see a lot of tasks in once glance. Nirvana has that view too.

It depends on the calendar representation of course. In the Calendar app on a Macbook, the tasks with no start or due date are stacked at the top of each day which works for me nicely.

A one-time payment of $70 for a 5yr-subscription is tempting

https://stacksocial.com/sales/toodledo-plus-5-yr-subscription (offer expires soon)

but how much does that buy you if Toodledo calls it quits, scales innovation down to the absolute minimum, does not invest in more customer support…?

The reasons I picked todoist: One of the most established of the others. Large user base and a very solid product. They have almost everything I want. The mobile app is a thing of beauty. If you have seen it before, they just got a big update. It checks off almost every want that I have. Large active community. Best price. Good development. This is a solid choice, but not as many bells and whistles.

There’s also an independent, open source kanban-board for Todoist. Kanban is a must-have for me: I really want something visual like a kanban-board to get me going. I am now syncing “active” and “next action” toodledo-tasks for one particular context to Trello for that purpose (using Integromat.com, which is very impressive in terms of available connectors and UI/UX). But having to deal with 2 todo-apps (and an integration-tool) is simply too much.

OTOH: the kanban-board for Todoist could be duplicated with Toodledo-integration. Seems like a nice rainy afternoon-project

Have you tried syncing to an online calendar? https://www.toodledo.com/tools/sync_ical.php

It works really well and has the added benefit that you can keep an eye on your tasks outside of Toodledo

The FAQ says "If a task does not have a due-date, it will be repeated from the start-date. If a task has neither a due-date nor a start-date, then it will be repeated from the completion date.”

The exception would be when Repeat is set to End of Month, right? In that case I would assume a due-date nor a start-date have any effect.

Am I correct in my assumption?

thx

Unable to link my toodledo account from within Taskangel on iphone. The Sign-in page (coming from Toodledo.com) keeps returning the message "The email and password didn't work. Please try again."

Syncing tasks in the Toodledo-app using a generated app password works (but it is very slow).

Anything else I can look into to try and resolve this? After looking into the problem themselves Taskangel-support asked me to take it to the Toodledo-forums.

thanks

Can't argue with a FAQ :) But still I find it counter-intuitive, especially since I would expect the start date in the past would override the Hide Future task value. To me the start date says that it's about time to start working on the task if I want to be ready by the due date.

OTOH: I've been a user for over 7yrs and I haven't encountered this situation before (or I might have forgotten about it)

Thank you! That's what I needed to hear.

I've changed the setting to 2 months and now the task does appear. I find this behaviour odd though, since by hiding the task even when the start date has passed it's easy to miss it.

I got a reply from support to read the manual. That's kinda disappointing for me as a paying customer for over 7yrs now.

I started a new ticket with the same subject because the original ticket got closed as soon as I reviewed the support response as "poor" (which is how it works, by design, I know..)

That is correct but
(a) being able tot hide future tasks is one of the great features of Toodledo,
(b) the one task that has a start date from last week (and due date in Jan 2019) should be visible when "in the future" option is disabled, IMO, and
(c) as stated: if the due date is set to december 2018 the task becomes visible when the "in the future" option is disabled, as it should because the start date is from last week

I will open a support ticket. Not sure of what I should take a screenshot, though..

Toodledo has a lot of customisation-possibilities so if you're encountering problems it is not uncommon that others do not experience the problem right away, if at all.

That said, I'm not entirely following your problem-statement. Could you guide us through the steps? Maybe with a screenshot

Note that while the tasks with a due date in Jan 2019 do not appear in any of the regular views (my tasks, folders, status...), they do appear in the calendar-view and they are also part of the Calendar syncing.

If I'm not mistaking you want to set a due date in the near future (e.g. Dec 5) and then have the task repeat monthly (with the default option "repeat from due date")

Two of my tasks have a due date in Jan 2019. Both are not shown in my task list (filter is set to "show tasks in the future", but that doesn't matter here). One of tasks even has a start date in the past (last week)

When I change the due date to Dec 2018 the tasks appear.

Am I missing something here?
