TaskClone indeed works with Toodledo and is in Toodledo's 3rd party apps directory - http://www.toodledo.com/tools/directory_item.php?appid=taskclone

TaskClone uses good ole' email to send tasks into Toodledo from Evernote. Because Toodledo has probably the best email syntax around, you get all the benefits when writing tasks in Evernote - https://www.toodledo.com/info/help_email.php.

With TaskClone, you can add individual checklist items (with checkbox) to Toodledo or send the note title to Toodledo as a task. Either way, the task description, includes the title of the note and a hyperlink so you can open Evernote for all the details.

Welcome Bridget! This is going to be challenging work. Created in 2004, I bet Toodledo has a disproportionate number of us old-heads. Redesigning with modern principals without disrupting us will be a challenge.

I think the phasing is the right approach. I would also be more aggressive on the mobile apps as they probably have more of your younger users, not that us old-heads don't use mobile.

Given the competitive landscape, the idea would be to highlight the rich feature set that differentiates Toodledo without the clutter that seems very out-of-fashion. I'm thinking SIMPLE with configuration options to show more detail to avoid clicks. Also, simple animations and transitions really adds to UX without getting in the way.

Frankly, the table layout appeals to me, but I'd look at the task apps people think are beautiful and see if anything can be adapted without losing productivity. Mobile would be the place where simplicity will be more important IMHO.

Good luck! I'm rooting for us you!

TaskClone uses Toodledo's robust email capabilities to send to-dos from Evernote directly into Toodledo with a link back to the Evernote note.

When we built TaskClone, we had Toodledo in mind because of its support for app-specific links of Evernote and the great email syntax.

Have a look at our Toodledo-specific video and see if it meets your workflow.

Thanks Frank an mhmcgrath!
TaskClone is very much an infant in the online world, but we are glad to already be adding value to many. We started right here struggling with these issues and are glad our initial efforts are useful. We have much more ahead, but intend to keep it simple and not go in to feature bloat.

Dr. Frank is very modest as he has written an incredibly thorough post on the need for a service like TaskClone and how it can help you with this common issue for all note-takers.

Thanks for the mention of TaskClone. I'm glad it's meeting some of your needs. Thanks also for making me aware of the Google script. I'll have to look into that. Here at TaskClone, we've been longtime Toodledo users who are learning to master the Google universe.

Can the Google Script add tags or file in notebooks? I've been just forwarding to Evernote inbox and editing the subject in Gmail to get things into Evernote in an organized fashion.

The post of 4/28 was for testers for what would become TaskClone. I am a long time Toodledo user and built TaskClone to solve the problem so many Evernote users have.

Check it out and if you have any questions or feedback, please let us know at support.taskclone.com.

This video should explain how it works for folks - http://youtu.be/5AqgVbfk6Ig

I understand your concern. Unfortunately, we're just a tiny team of developers who see a problem and are trying to solve it. We're not funded by anything, but our day jobs.

We don't have time or interest to use your contact information for nefarious purposes, but we fully understand your trepidation. Many people have already signed up, so if you don't want to add your name to the list, you'll get to see the finished product and decide if you're interested at that point.

That said, we'd like your feedback. I've been a Toodledo member since 2011 I think, so unlike the other sites where I've posted, I'm not just some marketer coming from nowhere.

Wish you the best regardless.

Gqueues implementation

BTW, Gqueues is where I think TD needs to head. They have done the Google look and feel thing well, but not nearly as robust, don't work with MYN or GTD as well, no good GDocs integration. Do Gqueues better and there is a huge market.

This post is about how to improve Toodledo through Google Integration, but first let me pay homage.

After much research, TD is the most flexible task management SaaS product available. The integration of both MYN (start dates) and GTD (contexts, next actions) is still a differentiator. Simple, Robust and Not Ugly.

CHALLENGE - What's Missing? - FOCUS
- Most users are either in or going to a Google or Microsoft ecosystem
- TD is trapped somewhere between a simple task manager and full project management software
- Social is huge and TD has built a smart implementation over a base not really designed for social.

SOLUTION - GO GOOGLE
Benefits
- Access to MASSIVE growing market with abysmal task/notes system as compared to Microsoft
- Add project management capacity free by integration with Google Calendar, Docs and GMail (also Groups and Google+)
- Provide simple Evernote integration that links to notes associated with tasks - don't try to recreate with your Notes
- Fill Google's gaping hole in Tasks and Notes - Be an acquisition target that allows G to bring real productivity.

NEXT STEPS
- Develop GApps GMAIL gadget to convert email to task. Include MYN/GTD fields. Start small, but do it now. Yes, it will only work for GApps users, but it will open a whole new world for TD. Avoid universal solutions that require too much maintenance (e.g. browser extensions)
- Add simple GDocs linking - improves collaborations, saves storage (Will precipitate a change in your pricing structure, but smart users are doing this on their own to avoid costs)
- Fix existing Gmail gadget to apply same filters as TD website/apps
- Charge more money - You could use a developer well versed in Goog to expand from the above to move up the project management food chain. 90% or GApps users could use something simple like TD without need for Basecamp, etc. Slightly improve the free offering and create one Pro level at $60/yr. and move up from there. Standalones won't pay and professionals have $60. Grandfather existing users for a year or two.

Good Luck and let me know if I can help.
