Yes--your are right! I totally forgot. Thank you!

As to dragging items--I have discovered it just takes a special touch on my mouse and the item magically moves where I want it to. I was expecting it to highlight or blink.

How do I make a title for an outline?

I can't seem to "pick up" an item to drag it. Directions say to click on the bullet point to left of the item. When I do that the background for the item turns yellow but item does not move. Is there a step before that?

Can you please tell me or direct me to where I can read about what brings up the green background and what "starts today" means? am not sure why I am seeing this for two out of five items that I put in one folder today, all top priority and starting today.

I wish there was a way to click on any feature in the UI (or smaples of UIs one can set up) and get a description of what it is , how you get it or limit it, and what it is used for. I would be happy to help with this but I have no idea where to start.

Thank you Jake. That does work but I want to keep that column pretty narrow so I can still see other headings easily. I would like to see more of the folder name on the navy blue bar above it, the one that has search icons on the right. From the screen it looks like there should be room for 20-30 characters (what do I really know?) but I get only ten and ellipses.

Please direct me to right place if this has been covered and I just can't find it--

I want to show a task as complete but still be able to view it within its folder. Would like to also show date completed.

Thank you in advance.

I would like to be able to read the entire folder name when I am viewing tasks within a particular folder.
What settings or other choices do I need to open or close to do this?
Is there a viewable character limit for folder titles in different views?

Thank you in advance.

Sorry my keyboard does not appear to enable screen shots. The display problem,, as you suggested, be related to the browser window since the display is fine on my lap top. I will try to describe it better in case anyone else has same display issue. This is not a major problem, just a weird annoyance.

So, as one goes down the screen-- you see a blue bar that offers Quick Add and Quick Search and that displays fine.
But below that is a somewhat lighter blue bar with the names of fields/functions (column headings). These names are cut off all along at the bottom, as if the bottoms of the letters are obscured or overlapped by rest of the blue background. I can read the tops of the words and so I know what they are.

The information under the columns of the function/fields are displayed fine and are retained throughout the list. But the headings do not repeat their appearance as one scrolls down the screen. If I can't remember what each column represents I have to go back to the top. I have remember what task I was looking at to find my place again and then get back there. So, a feature request would be an on-demand heading bar or an opportunity to set the heading bar be displayed between so many tasks. Maybe other people have better short-term visual memory than I do or don't change the order of their fields very often.

Regardless, I sincerely appreciate Toodledo and your effort to address every user question, no matter how redundant or trivial. I have left other systems because I never got a response to a question.

It would be very helpful if one could click on different parts of what is displayed on the screen and right on the screen the correct name for the particular part would appear. Then we could enter it into the search. to learn what it does. Or, maybe there could be a link to a description of what it does, how people use it, and any setting options. Perhaps this could be done by showing some screen shots of how different kinds of users have configured Toodledo and either labelling ir using a legend to show what different elements are called and the range of options within them. I do appreciate the labelled screen shots for new features, but I am still learning about old features!

When viewing by dates (using the left hand column), what does "started" mean? Can the choices in this column be customized? Viewing by dates is a great feature!

To use less space on the screen--Maybe the options within repeating could be reduced to three characters (EOW =every other week, E4Y - every four years, for example). Maybe the start date and due date could include a superscript. for the year if it is not the present year.

If I want to modify a task that I have viewed on my list and click on the task I get a very small box to type in. Is there a setting or series of steps to take in a certain view to change this so I have more space ?

In Grid format the blue bar (horizontal, across top of page) only displays the tops of the headings that describe the the fields/functions. Anything I can do about this? Am using chrome. Related, question, maybe-- Is there a way to make the headings appear as I scroll down the list of tasks? Thanks in advance.

What can I do so that the Hot List that is automatically emailed to me matches the Hot List I see when I access it through Tasks on the iOS app or desk top first thing in the morning? I have tried modifying the rules for the Hot List and applying various sorts and activating display/hide features on the list that appears via Tasks but the\ emailed version still does not match the version accessed through Tasks. I am perhaps not getting the logic to be compatible. Is there a way to just copy them from one to the other. The Hot List that is emailed is very nice feature but not being able to jump right into a task from it or the same list and start working from it makes the Hot List more of a warning that I have a lot to do than point for entering the system and getting started. Thanks in advance and thank you for your incredible work and all the recent updates are user friendly and logical.

Is there a way to have name of the folder I am viewing displayed at the top of the page? I have a long list of folders and although the selected folder is in bolded, when I am in looking at my tasks, most of the folder names are below the page I am on. I would like immediate visual confirmation that I am in the right folder. I suppose I cold start each task with the name of the folder but that is cumbersome and sometimes I eventually break a complicated project down into additional folders. Thanks in advance.

Score: 0
Not replying to me own post, just clarifying:

1. I want the completed tasks in a particular Folder to be visible with the ones I still need to do in that Folder.

2. I want them to stay there until I decide to delete or move them.

3. I dont want to search for completed tasks and have them come up for a variety of projects.

If it helps in understanding my needs, I use Folders for Projects. Maybe I have just gone in the wrong direction on this. Any help appreciated.

When I open a folder I want to see the tasks that I completed as well as the ones that I need to complete. I don't want them to disappear unless I decide I don't want them visible. If there is not an obvious solution, perhaps if I explain why I want to do this it may help in generating a solution.

Reasons to view competed tasks:

1. So I don't put them in again as tasks. I have a lot of projects that are spread out in time and geography. It is easy to forget what I have done.

2.. The completed tasks can serve as cues for other task(s) when I review all that has been done.

3. I can reference when I did something if I add the date completed.

4. I can easily see the tasks I did to complete a project when I work on a similar one.

5. So I can write in a comment about what happened when I did something or where I put something.

6. I may decide not to do a certain task but I want a record of how I defined it and to add the reason I didn't do it..

So far the only thing I can think to do and still see a completed task on my list is to rate it Low Priority and add text to the task such as an X or type in DONE or XDONE.

Score: 0
When converting an email to a task, if one does not specify a folder or anything else, what will be the default "location" for the exported email when it has entered Toodledo as a task? I could only locate what I sent via search (in No Folder), using a key word from subject line. Was hoping that any task I sent my email would all show in one easy to find place so I could decide later what to do with them. Thank you advance.
