Question on repeating tasks

Hi,

I'm a relatively new user who is confused as to how to use repeating tasks effectively. Let's take an example - renew car insurance, which is due every year on 15 June. So I create a repeating task (period 1 year) before 15 June 2012. Great - the task appears in my list with the correct due date. When 15 June comes around I renew my insurance. I know want two things to happen:

1) the task relating to 2012 goes away
2) the task relating to 2013 is set

But it looks as though the task I created just sits in the "due in the past" pile, regardless of whether I mark it as complete or not?

How can I get the behaviour I want? Thanks for any replies...

A task with a Due Date of 15 June 2012 will show up as "Due in the past" (given that today is July 26, 2012) if the current view is sorted by Due Date. When you complete the task, it stays in your list until you refresh the screen, or go to another View and come back. There is no option to have a task disappear from your list as soon as you complete it.
