Drag & drop works. Click on the 'hand' icon and drag onto another task.

In your settings, you might also want to consider enabling manual sorting of subtasks by drag & drop: http://www.toodledo.com/account_edit.php?edit=19

Hi lpfo,

I guess it depends upon the way you are using Toodledo. For my GTD implementation, projects (i.e. multi-step tasks) are handled using parent tasks & subtasks. The parent task is the project name and the subtasks are each project action.

I've explained how I have setup Toodledo: http://www.toodledo.com/forums/5/8933/0/the-peter-question-folders-vs-status.html

Hi Dewa. I don't know if there are plans to add Indonesian. I'm just a Toodledo user like you so I am not sure. I just took the opportunity to use a little bit of the language I learned back in school!

On the main navigation menu at the left...

Click on "Help & News" http://www.toodledo.com/info/index.php

Then click on "Contact us" http://www.toodledo.com/info/contact.php

Then click on "Support ticket" http://www.toodledo.com/info/ticket.php

You can just click on the last link above to take you straight there but I wanted to show you how I got there.

The developer is active in these forums so you can also post a message in the Questions section.

Agree with your comments about the UI. Search the forums for "Stylish" to find out how you can use a third-party utility to dress up the UI with either Chrome or FireFox browsers.

Don't write off Toodledo too quickly. It is very flexible and has a lot of power. With Stylish you can make it look better (not perfect, just more bearable). And you can get some good help and tips here in the forums.

@gjeff - quite a lot of progress is made here. It's just that the developer works on what he wants to work on, not necessarily on what you or I want him to.

Here is a link to a thread that provides some insight into how the developer decides what features to add and how forum requests are ranked: http://www.toodledo.com/forums/1/7343/0/locations-reverse-sort-and-more.html

What I do is use the 'star' field to put tasks onto my Hotlist so they remain visible. This has the benefit of keeping them on the list until they're done but I don't have to keep rolling the due date forward.

I found that constantly rolling the due date forward was not only time consuming but added to the stress by making me feel I was under-achieving.

I assumed that manual sort was reflected on the iPhone app.

I use Appigo Todo which does allow manual sorting of all tasks. It doesn't sync the sort order with Toodledo but it's not a big deal for me.

Check that you don't have two themes active at once. Just click the Stylish icon and if something else has a checkmark next to it, uncheck it.

On iPad/iPhone I can set the default value for Start Date. Can I do that on the web?

Yes, in account settings: http://www.toodledo.com/account_edit.php?edit=18

It sounds like you have everything running quite well - congratulations.

The only suggestion that I would make, and it comes from following GTD practices, is that auto-defaulting new tasks with a start date and due date may cause you more work rather than save time.

Rather than set false start and due dates that you will likely have to amend later or, or may cause you work on a task that really doesn't need to be done at that time, why not just leave these fields blank and fill them in when you review your task lists each day or week and set realistic dates?

When entering new tasks, I often just add the task name and nothing else. I don't have any fields set to auto-default values. Each day I process my inbox and then assign values to fields as needed. I don't give any task a due date unless it really is due that day.

Toodledo does allow manual sorting of subtasks so you don't have to pre-pend your task name with numbers if you don't want to. You need to turn this on in your account settings.

At the moment, Nirvana doesn't sync with anything. They don't have a mobile app and there is no API yet so all you can is use their mobile browser version (which is quite good).

Have a look at using the 'Optionally on' date modifier on these repeating tasks. If you don't check the task as done it will simply move forward based on your repeat setting.

I'm impressed with the functionality of Toodledo, but it has a very dated look and feel. Please spend a little money on a good designer.

Also note that if you sort any view by 'date completed', the field will then display in the view so you don't have to roll your mouse over and wait for the popup.

Is it possible that when Due Date= No Date that its not counted when you put a rule in to select if Due Date is less than a date. I am trying to create a rule for overdue tasks and it appears to treat No Date as a date when using the less than command

You can get around this by adding another rule:

OR Due Date is not No Date

Sounds like you've unintentionally sorted your list(s) by Importance. This would cause the list dividers to show different Importance levels based on due date, priority, etc.

To change this, click on the sort link on the main toolbar so it is displayed (it might be already) and then change the first sort criteria to something else, e.g. alphabetical.

Getting on my GTD soapbox...

The best approach is to not assign due dates to tasks unless they absolutely have to be done on that day. The temptation is to give everything a due date to schedule tasks and to remind yourself of things to be done. I have to stop myself doing this all the time.

If you do a weekly review (or more frequently) and utilize the context feature and GTD's time/energy principles then you shouldn't need to use due dates to drive your workflow.
