Posted Nov 16, 2021 in: Whatever happened to the auto update feature for overdue tasks
Score: 0
I am pleased to say this bug has been dealt with and the system is working as expected - you simply hit auto-update and then the tasks update.
Posted by PamelaH: Posted by Toby Goldsmith: I have actually raised a support ticket on a similar subject to this as it is not working as expected. If you go to here: https://www.toodledo.com/account_edit.php then look for Overdue Tasks, you can check to ensure that you have it enabled. In addition to this setting, there was a bug where this overdue popup wouldn't always trigger when it should have. We have released a fix today that hopefully should resolve this issue. If you still aren't seeing the popup as expected, please file a support ticket so we can look into it. Pamela - the inference is that when enabling this setting, the system would update automatically. Is there a way to enable this or does it require the user hitting the update button post midnight? |

I currently have a very basic system of creating an auto backup by using a batch file. It works, but it is very clunky and probably prone to failure.
Are there any plans to implement an automated backup regime within the programme? |

When you say you are rewriting native apps, do you mean you’re doing more than one?

Failing that, Task Angel.

I think you can go into the settings section and somewhere in there you can force sync - that can either be sync left to right or right to left.

This seems to be working and is no longer cluttering up my task list. Fantastic.

Have managed to find this setting but the fault still seems to remain.

I am using a hyphen.
Presumably that’s causing the issue? |

Thanks for this, but where do I find this?

Any assistance here, please?

Whenever I BCC into TD, the subject line of the email becomes truncated.
Why is this? |

I enabled this but when I tried to access the app, it would not let me in. Can 2FA be used with the app?

I have set up some repeated tasks which need to occur every six months (these are eyesight tests). I also have the system to automatically update tasks to the next day which have not been completed the previous day.
Is it possible to setup the repeating tasks to not auto-update? |

I email most tasks (BCC) into Toodledo and this works great for me. The only downside, however, is that when I go into a the task in TD, there is no date there (as you'd expect) and I would need to write this in manually. Is there a way which I can simply click into the notes section of the task and then do something which will then enter a date?
(There seems to be something like this for the notes section of the programme) |

Instead of running an extension, try pinning the tab in Chrome and have it always running. Faster to access even if it takes a little more resources. Can you give some assistance on how to achieve this, please? |

Chrome and Gmail extensions are essential for any task manager as a way of easily and quickly adding tasks. They must also have the ability to set all task parameters from the extension interface. Toby, I am using the "Add to Toodledo" extension which can be found in the Chrome Web Store here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/add-to-toodledo/hdmhiihcenipfdlmkdlhmgijjimlpkim Version 1.1.8.13 Updated 16 June 2021 Size 230KiB It works very well and as you can see was last updated 16 June 2021. PamelaH, Although the above extension works very well, it could one day disappear so it is essential that you add a Gmail/Chrome extension into your plans so that you have it developed and in place long term in case this happens. BTW I have had an account since October 2010 but when Jake first sold the business, along with many others, I quickly lost faith in the new owners and moved to the Dark Side (Remember the Milk) as this service was still being developed and supported. However I maintained a free account with Toodledo (was Silver) and kept a watch on the forums (until they disappeared!). Looking at your plans so far with Toodledo has given me hope that the service will continue to be supported and improved, so I have taken out a Standard subscription (to help support you) and started using Toodledo again as my Task manager. I would reiterate what many others have said that the main attraction of Toodledo is the simple (spreadsheet like) web interface that shows as many tasks as possible with all their relevant parameters fully visible all the time. Please do not change this principle, fancy/colourful interfaces are all very well but nothing beats the current Toodledo layout (and I have tried very many of the competitors) By all means improve the mobile apps (they need it) and continue to develop new features but listen to your loyal user base and keep the principle format the same. Looking forward to another 11-plus years of service from the best Task Manager service around. Thanks for the information here. I have installed the extension but can you please advise how I launch it? As regards you r comments about the attraction of Toodledo, I wholeheartedly agree with this. |

Thanks.
Are you planning to do something similar as this is first class? I also use Taskangel which also compliments your service very well too. |
