This is on our to-do list, but it is our policy to not comment on our roadmap or delivery dates for future feature improvements.

We already support the retina display. We do have plans for improving subtasks.

There is a tool called click.to that works well for some people. Also, another one called Active Words does a similar thing.

Yes, it is a good idea to backup your data before trying out a 3rd party app. It sounds like you did the backup after the data was deleted, which obviously didn't work. I am glad that you had an older backup that was usable.

Please contact Pocket Informant to tell them about the problem so that they can fix it.

You can try subscribing to the "events only" calendar which will omit tasks without a date

We do not currently have an auto renewal, but this has been on our to-do list for awhile. In the meantime, we do send out several email reminders, and you can also create a Toodledo task to remind you if you want.

If you miss a renewal, your older completed tasks are vulnerable. They may be deleted if our clean up program runs before you renew. If you are concerned about this happening, its best to just renew early.

Retention means how long we keep the task before automatically deleting it. If you have a free account you can only view the last week of this, but the data is still there in case you upgrade to a Pro account, then you can view the entire history.

Toodledo (like almost all websites) uses cookies to store your login information in your browser. A cookie persists across all tabs that are open, so only 1 account can be signed in at a time in a single browser. You will need to use multiple browsers if you really need to this.

For security reasons, it is not possible to put the login credentials inside the url and login automatically via bookmark.

When you send a task via email from Toodledo, there is only a limited amount of information that we can transfer to your email program, due to the way that the internet was designed. So, we can't include the note because of space constraints. We plan to address this in the future by having email sent from the website instead of opening in your default email program.

Thanks for the bug report. We will get this fixed. In the meantime, you'll need to send one extra field to edit, like setting the priority to itself.

If you create a search that matches everything (like title contains [leave blank]) and then scroll to the bottom it will tell you the total number.

I don't know what you mean by "browser command line params"

1) Make sure that your timezone is set correctly in your account settings. Also, if you leave the web browser open over night, it will still think that it is yesterday, so you just need to reload the page once each morning.

2) Im not sure what you mean by "Diary". You can use tag and context filters to hide tasks. Will that work?

Today we are making a few small changes and improvements.

1) In your account settings, at the bottom of the page, there is now a tool that will allow you to quickly delete old completed tasks from your account. This is similar to the account setting that automatically deletes old completed tasks, but it allows you to do it manually if you like to do this. If you have lots of old completed tasks in your account, it can cause the website to behave slowly for you, so cleaning them out periodically can be beneficial. If you want to retain a copy of old completed tasks for your records, you can use any of our export tools to download a copy to your computer for archival.

2) The counter at the bottom of the lists that shows the number of tasks hidden by filters will now be more accurate when using subtasks.

3) In the notebook section, when you are viewing a folder and add a new page, that page will default to being in the folder you were viewing instead of "no folder".

4) Toodledo starts to perform poorly for you when you have lots of tasks in your account. For example, if you have 2,000 tasks in your list, there could be several megabytes of data that needs to be transmitted to your web browser every time you view the list. Depending on your internet connection and computer memory/speed, this could take a minute to load and may even cause your browser to freeze. Similarly: searching, sorting and filtering all slow down when you have lots of data to dig through. So, we are now strictly enforcing the 20,000 task and 10,000 notebook limits which were only loosely enforced before. We are also limiting the main "All Tasks" list to displaying 2,000 tasks at a time. More than this, and it just gets too slow to function properly in most web browsers. Any list that has fewer than 2,000 tasks to display will be unaffected. If you really need the ability to display more than 2,000 tasks at once, you can make a Saved Search for all of your tasks and it will still display all of them beyond 2,000 if thats what you really want. There are not many people with more than 2,000 tasks so we don't think that this will cause much of a problem.

5) When adding or editing a task fails for some reason (like hitting the 20,000 limit), Toodledo will now present a error message with a useful description of what happened.

6) With reference to the Halloween server crash, we have put a number of safety checks and monitoring algorithms in place to help prevent this from happening again.

The problem was that a spam-bot found its way into Toodledo and was adding thousands of tasks per minute to hundreds of fake Toodledo accounts. Why? I don't know. This was compounded by the fact that we had an improperly sized hard drive partition which ran out of space due to the extra task data, which crashed our database.

We quickly fixed the hard drive/database problem and then spent the rest of the night putting better monitoring and limits in place. The 20,000 task/account limit that we have advertised forever is now a hard limit. Before today, it was not strictly enforced. Also, if your account has over 40,000 tasks, it has been locked and you will need to contact us to get back into it. I don't think any real person has this many tasks. Also, the "add multiple tasks" form has been restricted to 100 tasks at a time, down from 500. This may be a temporary change. I don't know yet.

Everything is back to normal and we are working to put better protections in place to prevent this from happening again in the future.
