Click.to is a neat little Windows tool that just added support for Toodledo. With this, you can select any text in any window on your computer and instantly turn it into a task on Toodledo.

Check it out: http://www.toodledo.com/tools/directory_item.php?appid=clicktoapp

Yes, there is a bug with Google Calendar that makes it possible to spam everyone who has subscribed to an external calendar. This is not unique to Toodledo, and is not something that we can fix. It is a bug with Google Calendar.

It is right next to the date. You may need to enable the time field first in your account settings under "Fields Used".

Thanks for the suggestion. We can't comment on a timeframe for implementation, but this is on our to-do list.

Ok, I shouldn't have said "not possible". What I should have said is that it is really difficult and requires 3rd party tools and subscriptions to external services to work. This isn't really Toodledo's area of strength.

We have figured out that this happens because the owner of the mysterious event has added "Toodledo" as a participant to the event, which has caused that event to appear on everyone's "Toodledo" calendar.

As long as you never add "Toodledo" as a participate to any of your events, your data will not be shared with anyone. This only happens if you edit an event on Google Calendar and manually invite "Toodledo". We have no way to prevent this from happening. Google will have to fix it.

This bug has been reported to Google and they should be working on it.

If you want, you can participate in the conversation with Google here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Calendar/thread?tid=295416b7b3fcdefb&hl=en

The more people complain to Google, the more likely they are to fix it quicker.

This is a good idea, but its not really possible with the way that the internet works. Its not possible to open a file from the internet directly into a program like Word, without downloading it first to your desktop. And it is not possible to save a file directly from Word to the internet.

Thanks

This is not going to be possible because authentication of the task edit would be difficult. Since anyone with your secret email address could edit your tasks, this could cause problems. In order to authenticate the edit, you would need to put your password into the email, which isnt secure.

Instead were are going to try to make it quicker to access tasks from the website or from mobile apps, so that you don't have to use email.

It could be that if someone adds Toodledo as a guest to their event on Google Calendar that Google puts that event on everyone's calendar that is also using Toodledo. I will have to experiment with this. But I am certain that we are not responsible for putting the wrong events on people's calendars. In fact, using the Toodledo Calendar gadget, it isn't even possible for us to put a task directly on the calendar. All we can do is put the green checkmark on the date. I've spent the last several hours investigating, and I am certain that these events are not coming from a mistake on our end.

It probably does have something to do with our address, but it isn't something within our control. I think Comcast is blocking your account from sending email to us for some reason.

The SMTP server is controlled by Comcast. You'll need to contact them to see if they have any rules set on your account to prevent sending emails to certain domains. For example, if you have previously marked a toodledo email as spam, Comcast may block outgoing emails to toodledo.com as well. Im not sure, but I know that the problem is with Comcast. We have nothing to do with your SMTP server.

We just released a small update.

1) Creating a support ticket has been streamlined a little bit. This should make it easier to find quick answers to the commonly asked questions.
2) The file size for CSV and XML task imports has been increased from 1MB to 2MB, which should allow people to import tasks easier with having to split them into multiple files.
3) The iCal import/export tool has been moved into the import/export section where it belongs
4) Fixed a bug where the name of a private goal could have been revealed to a collaborator in certain situations even though they could not see the tasks inside the private goal.
5) We optimized the pages a little bit more for speed, but it might not be noticeable (about 4% faster)

The *.ical file that is generated by toodledo contains this event.

Can you please send us a copy of this file so that we can see? I have tested this quite a bit and I am pretty confident that we are not putting these mysterious tasks inside the .ics feed. This is something that Google is adding on their own, by mistake.
