Yes, you are doing something wrong: You are asking here instead contacting the developer of the app, which I'm guessing must be Magnum ...

There are several Android apps that sync with Toodledo, but they are not made by the same people who developed the Toodledo website.
Which app do you use? Best to ask the developer of your app. |

Score: 2
There's a Help topic for that: How do filters work?
The filters can be accessed by clicking on the "Show" button in the toolbar above your list. Certain filters may not be available to you if you are not using the related field. You can pick which fields you are using in your account settings. Here are the current filters: Recently Completed This filter will hide or reveal tasks that were completed in the last 7 days. Tasks that were completed more than 7 days ago are always hidden and can only be viewed by conducting a search. BTW, all (or practically all) the features in the iPhone/iPad apps are also on the website, so if you see a feature on the iOS app, then it is almost certainly available on the website. |

Score: 0
The Hotlist is not a separate link. "Main" is a separate link: http://www.toodledo.com/tasks/index.php#main
Toodledo remembers what you last viewed in Main. If it was Hotlist, then that's where the link will take you. Likewise, this is the link for Search: http://www.toodledo.com/tasks/index.php#search (It shows up in your Address bar.) If you define and save a Search and then go to it, Toodledo will remember your choice and go to it the next time that you go to Search. Also, you can specify your default view in Settings: http://www.toodledo.com/account_edit.php?edit=7 This means that every time you go to Toodledo, you will go to that View, even if you access Toodledo by using www.toodledo.com. I simply don't understand why they don't allow me to see low priority in the hotlist. Because "low priority" is not "hot". ;)

Why is there an arbitrary limitation to a minimum priority of "Medium"? Because it is a "Hotlist", which means that there is something special about the tasks in that list. Priority is an obvious field for selecting tasks that are special or more important. If you want to ignore Priority when selecting tasks, you can view "All Tasks".How do you use Priority, and which tasks do you want to be displayed in your Hotlist? |

Yeah, a saved Search would work but which tasks do you want to display?
The Hotlist filters on three things: Priority, Due Date (within a number of days), and Starred. hm wants to include all tasks, regardless of priority. (Tasks with negative priority can be hidden in any view.) That leaves Due Date and Starred. There are already predefined views that filter on these fields, and perhaps one of these will do the job. But, there isn't a view that combines both. So, the Search could be "Due Date is in the next __ days", OR "Starred = Yes". Or, just assign a higher priority to those tasks that you want on the Hotlist. But, perhaps hm is using Priority in a peculiar way. This message was edited Feb 22, 2012. |

Suppose you have 14 levels of subtasks and the sub-sub-sub-sub-sub task is due today. That task has its own multiple levels of sub-sub-sub-sub tasks. How do you display that task on the hotlist? Do you display it nested deep inside the 14 layer onion? This is why I suggested having just one more level of subtasks. Seems to me that the user interface would be simpler to implement if there were only three levels (parent task, and two levels of subtasks) compared to having an unlimited number of levels.

It doesn't work if you are editing a note.
It works when you are not editing, in the same way that it works in the Tasks section. |

It seems that the main consideration is the opinion of Jake, the Toodledo developer and administrator.
Posted by Toodledo: Personally, I hate it when websites spawn new windows. I much prefer for a link to open in the current window. There is a key that you can hold down on your keyboard when clicking to cause a link to open in a new window or new tab, based on your preference. So, the way it is now, you can have it both ways. https://www.toodledo.com/forums/2/12213/-66172/read.html Jake "much prefers" it this way, and that's the way it is in Toodledo, even though this is not how online email applications handle links. Also, several other online task managers open a new tab when you click on a link. This message was edited Feb 08, 2012. |
