In Account Settings, New Task Defaults, check "Also use these defaults for tasks added via email or twitter".

Are the only real differences between pro and pro plus the file uploads and the infinite retention of completed tasks?
Yes.

Did you try the link "from our mirror" here: http://toodledo-sync.software.informer.com/download/

I just downloaded a file called "toodledosync_1_01_7.msi".

BTW, this is Windows software.

Suppose you have 14 levels of subtasks and the sub-sub-sub-sub-sub task is due today. That task has its own multiple levels of sub-sub-sub-sub tasks. How do you display that task on the hotlist? Do you display it nested deep inside the 14 layer onion?
This is why I suggested having just one more level of subtasks. Seems to me that the user interface would be simpler to implement if there were only three levels (parent task, and two levels of subtasks) compared to having an unlimited number of levels.

It doesn't work if you are editing a note.
It works when you are not editing, in the same way that it works in the Tasks section.

It's not clear to me what you want to do with people who are not Toodledo subscribers.

There is currently no way of changing the colour scheme purely through what is provided by Toodledo.

It seems that the main consideration is the opinion of Jake, the Toodledo developer and administrator.

Personally, I hate it when websites spawn new windows. I much prefer for a link to open in the current window. There is a key that you can hold down on your keyboard when clicking to cause a link to open in a new window or new tab, based on your preference. So, the way it is now, you can have it both ways.

Jake "much prefers" it this way, and that's the way it is in Toodledo, even though this is not how online email applications handle links. Also, several other online task managers open a new tab when you click on a link.

There appears to be a newly introduced bug in this version that causes the app to crash on iPad when adding a new tag. We have just submitted a fix to Apple for review. Sorry for the inconvenience. In the interim, you can add new tags on the website and sync them to the iPad.

This would be a nice feature but it is not currently available.

For now, your best choice is to change the due date.

Which filter doesn't work?

The "Hide Future Tasks" filter will hide tasks that have a Start Date that is more than 1 day in the future.

+ Added support for the "Timer" field. You an now start a timer for any task and keep track of the time you spend working on it.
...
+ Search now matches the task's note as well as the title.
Now yer talkin'! :)
