A task with a time but no date is not something that the iPhone/iPad can understand well. Also, alarms will not work if there is no date because Toodledo doesn't know when to send it.

But if you have synced with the website then it is all backed up here and can be restored after you reinstall. Have you tried force quitting the app? Can you please provide us with a crash report so that we can see why it is crashing?
