It adds too much complexity to the UI, which is already pretty complex. We will leave it on our to-do list, and maybe we will revisit the decision in the future.

I don't know why it isn't working for you, but I still suspect that it has something to do with CURL encoding the string differently than what the API expects.

It could be that you made the edit but pressed the back button or closed the browser window before the edit had a chance to save. It could also be that a 3rd party app that you are syncing with overwrote your change with their old copy of the task.

If you attempt to use n alias that is already used, it will append some numbers to the end to make it unique. If you don't like the numbers we picked, you can edit the alias again and pick some different numbers, or a different alias.
