Emoji support in tasks

ICal feeds for folders and saved searches

iOS app with split screen support, choice over what the widget displays (just stared tasks for me) & better battery usage...

Soon hopefully!

One of my uses is to log when I see various natural events, that happen annually. In the task manager.

Eg first cuckoo, first swallow, first frost, first snow, etc

I create a task that repeats annually on completion.

I am using an ifttt recipie that logs all completed todos to a google spreadsheet, can extract this data to compare. Climate change etc. It’s a quick way of noting things.

Also they start to appear in my due in the next month smart list, so I can become mindful to look out for things.

Others who like this sort of thing might find this a useful tool.

Plenty of 3rd party desktop sync apps around.

I use TD in chrome on my Mac, just keep it open all the time. So long as you don’t reboot it still works after sleep.

Just the @ios app got an update soon.

I agree some interface colour options would be good; especially for the dyslexic and autistic amongst us!

Think we should have colour options, font size options

and emojis in task view as well.

I am an apple user (no windows or Linux) - an app called "things" is so beautifully simple.

Tried to combine TD with this (use the iCal feed from TD which shows in Things.

Also considering dropping TD and going for a mixed Remember the Milk and Evernote set up.

There are so many tweeks I would like to see in TD, but progress on the outside seems glacial.

- emoji support in tasks
- iCal feeds for each folder
- Manual Sorting option
- Manual Hotlist
- Better iOS app.

Just holding out, because it is a unique tool - with a bit of everything, just with loads of caveats.

Thanks @Jim.

Do you use TD & EN via any clients like PI (or Informant on macOS, of 2Do)? How do you link the two together? With TaskClone or similar?

I like to see all things that either i need to do, or need to consider due to it happening else where on one visual interface; awaiting either emoji support to tasks or separate cal feeds for different folders or searches.

TD is without doubt the best out there, just needs careful molding to a way of working.

@jake, thanks.

Perhaps nearer term, since lists, habitat & outlines all have emoji support - guess lists/notes aren't far away - would be useful to use emojis in tasks so as to help clearly differentiate different tasks in the iCal display.

If one goes a bit crazy with dated appoints and schedules any iCal feed ends up making the Cal programme looking over ful.

Is there a way to get a feed for just a folder or context or smart search?

This would help so much. - could then colour code and see groups of tasks in space and time visually.

Obviously @jake if that's not possible right now (feature request it pretty please!)

Created several apps for tasks, notes, lists etc - very easy to switch between.

You can apple script various 3rd party interactions too.

Better than any other app option imho.

Be keen to find out if anyone does, how does that work?

Maybe iOS reminders or Things or remember the milk or Evernote?

What are peoples work flows, linking TD with other apps?

Cheers

Just tested emojis with folder names and tasks. Doesnt seem to like it.

Is this something g we could have in the future, will help pick tasks out in a sea of words!

1) TD to have own Cal-Dav server - whereby on iOS (and MacOS) we can bypass having to use reminders with Siri - allow for cleaner input.

2) Own macOS app, similar to what Remember the Milk provides (basically a browser enclosure with a few add ons) - quick entry etc

android or windows I don't use, so can't comment - but similar there I would guess.

Just 3rd party tools are rubbish, getting in and out is the issue especially with task lists.

Thanks!
