Thanks for the suggestion. We can't comment on a timeframe for implementation, but this is on our to-do list.

Currently the badges and alerts are linked, so if you want remote badge updates you also need remote alerts. We are planning to separate these two functions so that you can have local alerts but remote badges.

Update 2.1.4 may fix some of these, but we are still working on parts of this.

Subtasks do not need to be in the same folder as their parent, so they are not moved. We plan to allow this to be an option in a future update.

Unfortunately, this isn't possible, but it is on our to-do list. However, we can't comment on a timeframe for implementation.

Thanks

Toodledo will create unique IDs for you when you add an object. You do not need to create your own ID numbers. If your software needs to have an ID for an object even before it has had a chance to sync, then I suggest that you keep both a local id number and a Toodledo id number. The local id will be assigned however you want and the Toodledo id will be assigned by us.

For batch commands, you should get back an error message in-line with all the "success" messages. You can use this to determine which task had the error. But, you are correct that if your JSON is malformed, it could cause everything to get out of wack since Toodledo won't read your tasks properly. I'll update the documentation to clarify the JSON encodings.

Thanks

I promise that we do not use the GPS when in the background. Your battery would last about 2 hours if we did. Apple checks for this and would require us to post a warning about battery consumption if we did use GPS in the background.

@john : Could not make the "new task" button disappear. Can you please take a screenshot and attach it to a support ticket?

By the way, Version 2.1.4 was just released which fixes all the known reported bugs.

"Recently added", "recently modified" and "all tasks" are just different ways to look at a subset of your tasks. They are not different lists, so it is appropriate for tasks to appear in all of three places. Think of each tab on this website as a window into your master list.

CSV Importing will always add every task inside the file to your list. If you already have the task in your list, then it will get duplicated. Importing is not the same as syncing. For syncing, you'll need to refer to the company that makes the app that you are using to sync with your HTC.

Some of you may have noticed our website being a little sluggish this past month. This is because of our popularity :)

We have just finished (this morning) adding another web server to our cluster which should help spread out the load and improve performance. Things should be about 25% faster now (if you are on a slow network, you may not notice much of a performance gain since your bottleneck is your bandwidth).

We have some additional server upgrades planned for next week which should boost this performance gain even more. We plan to spend the rest of the year performing upgrades, optimizing performance and doing some cleanup chores. We'll be ready to start 2011 off with a good start.

We don't normally pre-announce things, but I thought that I would make an exception for the holidays. The first thing that we will be working on in 2011 is improvements to collaboration. Initially, this will be to make using our existing collaboration tools easier and more intuitive. After this, we will be adding notifications for when tasks are edited by a collaborator, among other things. I am not going to provide an ETA, because I don't know how long this will take, but I just wanted everyone to know that sharing/collaboration improvements are on the horizon.

Hey everyone.

I just wanted to point out a nice new iPad app that syncs well with Toodledo.

http://www.leftcoastlogic.com/blog/smartapps/smartpad/

SmartPad is one of the first apps to use our new API 2.0, so it should sync very fast and be very reliable.
