We have nothing to do with Bitly, so I have no idea where these are coming from and why the notes are getting messed up. Perhaps it is a third-party application that is syncing with your account (Outlook, PocketInformant, etc), or maybe it is a browser plugin that you are using.

Does this happen to every note, or only certain notes? If only certain notes, do they have anything in common?

I know that Twitter uses Bitly. Are you using Twitter with your account?

It might be the start-date. If the start-date is in the future, it won't appear on the hotlist until the start-date arrives, even if the priority/due-date qualify for the hotlist.

Since people are expecting the app to sync at startup, we need to provide a warning if this was not possible for whatever reason, otherwise people might think that everything is in sync, when it isn't.

You may be constantly aware of your network situation, but many people are not as tech-savvy and appreciate the warning. Since it only takes 1 tap to make the warning go away, it shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience. If it is, you can switch to doing manual syncing.

We do plan to make the defaults more persistent and to allow subtasks to optionally inherit information from their parent.

That might be the intended behavior, I can't remember. I'll have to look into this.

You'll have to ask the developer about that, since we didn't make the outlook sync tool.

If you want to disconnect the syncing to your lost iPod, you can go into your account settings and change your unique id.

The only reason why it would continue to sync is if the person who found it is continuing to run Toodledo on the iPhone, which would be very strange. You might try appealing to their kindness and create a top priority task called "Please return my lost iPod to this address...". You could send an email to yourself with the same thing and hope the person reads it. Maybe offer a reward. Good luck :)

Manually sorting is on our to-do list. It is a complicated thing to implement in a non-confusing manner, which is why it is taking so long.

Usually, when an email body doesn't make it into the note, it is because it is encoded in some way that Toodledo can't yet understand. Most emailers have a "plain text" option as Anders recommended. I would try this and report back if it still doesn't work.

The collaboration on this website is currently task focused. You can only share tasks, so if you want to share files, they will need to be attached to a task. There is no way to currently collaborate with the "Files" section of Toodledo, but this is on our to-do list.

You must have gotten a bad install. Sometimes this happens, for unknown reasons. Deleting and reinstalling was a good decision.

We do plan to add a universal context filter, but Anders' suggestion is a good workaround.
