I think that the problem is that your notes are still in the editable state when you switch apps, so it hasn't saved the note yet. If you tap the "Done" button before switching apps, it should save your note.

You could also use subtasks, and use our new "clone task" tool to quickly make a copy of a task and all its subtasks. You could hide this template by giving it a -1 priority.

Since Apple does not allow iPhone apps to run in the background, I have no idea why having our app loaded on your iPhone would cause any sort of issues when the app wasn't running. In fact, Apple's reason for not allowing third-party apps to run in the background is to avoid these resource constraints in the first place.

Did the Apple guy say anything more than "Resource constraint"?

We know about the bug with UTF characters in the title of emails and it is on our to-do list.

You can read about how subtasks/parents are handled when completing them here: http://www.toodledo.com/info/subtasks.php

What I do is just leave the due-date as overdue instead of moving it forward every day. This serves as another reminder of how much I have postponed completing something. If I see that the task is 8 days overdue, then I know that I have postponed it 8 times, so I am more likely to do it. If I moved all of my overdue tasks forward to today, I would lose that information.

It's a personal preference, for sure.

Yes, please let us know what browser you are using and what the exact wording of the error is so that we can find the bug and squash it.

I just wanted to add that a first generation iPod touch is capable of producing sound, but it's just a high pitched buzzing.

And popup reminders are part of the sound alert, but as was mentioned, Apple only allows the most recent alert to show, and no alerts will appear if you don't have an internet connection.

You will have to contact Apple for a refund since there is nothing that we can do about how Apple runs the store. They should have prevented you from upgrading if your iPod wasn't compatible. But before you do that, you should also ask yourself if you are going to stay with OS 2.0 forever, or whether you will eventually spring for the $10 upgrade. Because if you are going to eventually get the upgrade, why not just get it now and enjoy the new technology? There are going to be a lot of cool apps that take advantage of the 3.0 technology and eventually no new apps will be release with 2.0 backwards compatibility, and I wouldn't want you to miss out on that for just $10.

If you use Time machine or have other backups of your computer, you can get the old version out of your backup and drag it into iTunes. Unfortunately, this is the only way that I know of.

We have made three small improvements to our forums today.

1) It is now possible to leave a topic as "unread" so you can come back later and finish reading if you want. Look for the link at the bottom of a forum topic.
2) It is now possible to change the number of topics and posts displayed per page. Go to your forum profile to edit your settings.
3) It is now possible to link directly to any post in the forums. Just click on the little page icon to the left of the posted date. This will highlight the post in question. You can then bookmark or copy/paste the URL wherever you want.

We are very fortunate that Toodledo has been increasing in popularity at an accelerating rate. Thank you to everyone who has trusted Toodledo with their to-do list. We have some great things planned for the future.

One of the downsides to being so popular is that we are being deluged with questions and feature requests. To give you an example of our exponential growth: We announced our forums a little over a year ago. For the first few months we were getting 1-3 new messages posted per day. Yesterday we had 55 new messages posted. A twenty fold increase in forum participation in about a year.

We have seen the same type of growth in emails and support tickets coming in to us. We currently spend over 50% of our time communicating with our customers. We enjoy talking with our customers, but as we continue to grow this will obviously become more and more unsustainable. We need to have some time to implement all the feature requests that people are sending in :)

It pains us to do this, because we pride ourselves on our support, but we have to put some restrictions in place to protect our own personally productivity. Today we are placing a cap on support tickets for people using our service for free. If you are a free user, you can create 2 support tickets, which will allow you to get one-on-one help about your particular issue. If you exhaust your 2 free support tickets, and need more help, you will need to purchase one of our subscriptions. All subscribers will continue to have unlimited support.

We know that this may not please people, but we still think that we are unique in providing free personal support to all of our users.

Please continue to use our FAQ and Forums for additional support options.
