Thanks for the suggestion about multiple notifications for the same event.

As for the crashing reported by Kevin Smith above, please create a support ticket and include as much information as you can about what you were doing right before it crashed.

Thanks
Jake

The badge number that Toodledo sends up to your iPhone is based on everything being flattened, since the server doesn't know how you left the app (subtasks nested or inline). Like Anders said, if you turn off badge updates (in the Apple Settings app), the badge will only update when you launch the app, which may be ok for you.

Amazon does not provide technical support. If something goes wrong, you are on your own. Support is a huge piece of the equation.

To get back to the original question, the "Connect to iTunes to Use Push Notifications" error appears to be an issue with the iPhone in general, not Toodledo's iPhone app. If you do a Google search for "Connect to iTunes to Use Push Notifications", you'll see that lots of people are having this problem with any push enabled application. It appears to be a bug that Apple will need to fix.

Yeah, this should only happen if you are using https encryption with file attachments. The reason why is because our SSL certificate works for Toodledo.com, but the files are stored on Amazon.com's S3 cloud service and our SSL certificate cannot authenticate Amazon's website. If you trust Toodledo and Amazon, then it is ok to accept the warning.

Yeah. Apple sort of rushed us with implementing Push, so it is a little funky now. The good news is that during the 3 weeks that it took Apple to approve our update, we fixed all the bugs and submitted a new update to Apple, which they are reviewing right now. This update fixes the pause when the app launches.

When you sign in, it will always keep you signed in for 1 week. The "Remember me" box just pre-fills your email address into the box when you return, so you have less typing. Closing your browser will not sign you out of Toodledo. You'll need to use the "Sign Out" link to sign out.

It will be fixed in the next update. Right now, if you tap on the note, the keyboard will appear.

Hi Mr Many Notes,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. You are correct that we failed to fix the display issue with the number badge on folders. We will get this fixed.

The other server is back online, so we are 100% back up now.

To answer Linden's question, while it is possible to have servers at different datacenters, the challenged would be keeping the data 100% in sync between the two datacenters. This would require a high-bandwidth private connection between the two, which might not be possible or might be cost prohibitive. The other issue is that switching traffic from the failed datacenter to the working datacenter would take time due to the way DNS works. So it would really only be protection from a major catastrophe, like a fire that took our server offline for multiple days. But we are exploring this option to see if it is affordable.

This is getting really really frustrating. Rackspace (who runs our datacenter) had another power outage today (their 4th). This affected us for about 45 minutes. We are currently back up and running without any data loss. However, we are 1 server short right now, so everything is going to run slowly until we get that other server back online.

I know that 4 outages in a few weeks makes Toodledo look totally amateurish and ridiculous and I assure you that we are working like crazy to migrate everything to a more reliable datacenter. Migrating everything is a complex coordination issue that takes some time to test and complete, but it can't happen fast enough.
