Today we are releasing an enhanced reminder service.

1) It is now possible to select which tasks will send reminders.
2) It is now possible to customize the leadtime for each reminder from 15 minutes to 7 days ahead of time. You can pick a different leadtime for each task. (Pro subscribers only)
3) Emailed reminders will now contain all the pertinent information about the task (folder, priority, note, etc..) so you won't need to visit the website to see the details.
4) Reminders can be sent via email and SMS, with more options coming soon.

This new reminder system is much more powerful than our old system. If you were using our old system (which sent a short non-configurable reminder 1-5 hours before every tasks), this will continue to work until you manually convert over to using the new system.

Reminder Configuration Page

Once you have setup an address at which to receive reminders (using the link above), you can set reminders by clicking the checkbox above the calendar when setting a due-date and time.

If a task has a due date but no due time, any reminders set for that task will use 12:00 noon to calculate the time to send the reminder.

You'll need to find a way to pass the cookies through in order to sign into your account. Someone on these forums posted a link to an example that used CURL instead of WGET, but I can't find it now.

The way collaboration currently works is that you can view, edit and add tasks to other people's lists (with permission of course). Currently a task must be owned by a single person, although we do have plans to improve collaboration to allow for tasks that are shared between people.

We have now greatly improved the ability to backup and later restore your own data. We have done this via the "XML Export/Import" tool in our Import/Export/Sync section. An XML export file will now contain all of the information for your tasks and subtasks.

We have also improved the XML importer. It can now restore subtasks nested properly inside their parent tasks (Pro subscribers only). The XML importer has also been optimized to allow it to process much larger import files without running out of memory. The previous limit was 200 tasks per import, but we have now tested this up to 2000 tasks per import without problems.

Additionally, we have gotten the XML importer working better at importing tasks from Vitalist and Voo2do, if you want to migrate from those websites to Toodledo.

While we are taking every precaution to protect your data on our servers, if you are concerned about data loss, you can periodically download the XML backup file and save all of your data to your computer.

We have already submitted a 3.0 compatibility update to Apple. It has a lot of new things in it that a lot of people will be happy about, but I was disappointed that I wasn't able to get everything that I wanted to put in it, in by Apple's deadline. That's all I'll say until the update gets approved by Apple.

We are focusing our energies on the iPhone right now and are leaving the other mobile platforms up for grabs for developers. There are some third-party developers that have already made apps. There is TooDo for Android and there is a Blackberry app in beta. If anyone else wants to make one, let us know.

If you decide that GTD is not for you, I can't recommend highly enough the Toddledo developed iPhone app. It's a really good general purpose app and, let's face it, will always feature the tightest integration with the Toodledo webapp.

And it will get even tighter with the next update which is in Apple's hands right now :)

Thanks for the suggestion. In the meantime, you might try using the tag field for this, or put the number in the front of the task name.

This is because Google uses dynamic ajax URL rewriting. The URL in the address bar is actually a fake URL and is not the address of the page that you are on, which is why the "Toodledo This Page" link doesn't work properly (it uses the actual URL, not the fake URL).

It's on our to-do list to see if we can correct in a future update.

Sorry, I did misread your first post. I thought you were going from Palm to Toodledo.

You are correct that currently we map Folders to Categories. There is not currently a way to map contexts to categories. Sorry. I'll put this on our todo list.

Anders is correct. This is an error with some Google code that we run on the pages to collect anonymous statistics that helps us monitor the website. I might have been a temporary glitch, since I am not seeing it. If it happens again, please open a support ticket so we can investigate further.

Thanks

This is the only situation. The API was unable to load anything so it gave a fatal error, which wasn't XML formatted. We hope that this doesn't happen again, but I'll see if we can make this type of error give an XML response.

Unfortunately, if Palm does not provide a way to export the data with contexts intact, there isn't much that we can do.

Yes, file attachments on Toodledo are not editable on site. You will need to download them, edit them, and then reupload them.
