Explanation of Search and Multi-Edit
Toodledo has a powerful search page that allows you to easily construct simple or complex search criteria that will find matching tasks. Once you have made the perfect search, you can save it for quick access on return visits. Additionally, with Toodledo's Multi-Edit tool, you can quickly edit a bunch of tasks at the same time.
To get to the search page, click the "Search" link at the top of the page when you are viewing your tasks.
Toodledo has a simple interface that will allow you to build a set of rules that will match the tasks that you want to find. With boolean operators (AND/OR), sub-rules, and a large selection of parameters, you'll be able to construct any search that you want.

1. A complex search
Each rule is on its own line. The "Match Any" or "Match All" option will determine how each rule is applied to your tasks. If you select "Match Any", each rule will be applied independently to your tasks. A task that matches any of your rules will show up in the results. If you select "Match All", a task will only appear in the results if it matches every rule that you have set up.
To add a new rule, click the
button and to split a rule into two sub-rules, click the
button. In figure 1, we have setup a complex search using 2 rules and 2 split rules. We did this by clicking the "Add Rule" button twice and then clicking the "split rule" button once. In this example, we are looking for uncompleted tasks that are due in the next 5 days AND have a priority of 2 or 3.
To save your favorite searches, you can type a name into the "Save Search As" box and press the "Save" button. This will create a tab across the top of the page for quick access to your personalized list.

2. A saved search
In figure 2, we have created a saved search called "My Search" using the criteria from figure 1. From here you can view the matching tasks, modify the search criteria, or permanently forget the saved search. You can also use the Multi-Edit tool, described next.
The Multi-Edit tool will allow you to quickly perform the same edit on multiple tasks at the same time. First, you must construct a search that finds all the tasks that you want to edit. Then click the "Multi-Edit" link in the yellow toolbar.

3. The Multi-edit tool
This will reveal a section where you can pick the edits that you want to make. To edit a field, click the checkbox adjacent to that field. Then select or input the new value. When you click the "Save Changes" button, every task in your search will be modified to this new value.
In figure 3, we are editing the two matching tasks to mark them both as completed. If you have dozens of tasks that you want to edit simultaneously, this can be a big time saver.
