Recurring Tasks not hiding in iPhone App

I have my iPhone app set up to hide future tasks, but when I check off a recurring task the new task is inserted but is not hidden. It does hide if I leave that screen and return. Is this intentional to show that the new task has been created, or is it a bug?

It is intentional to show that the new task was created and to give you the opportunity to edit the task if you need to. Refreshing the list will make it go into its proper location.
