Hi ,
at the outset, let me announce my feeling for TD, its a kicka** tool .... ;)
Anyway , im trying to mark the tasks as completed in toodledo gmail gadget as well as google calendar, it lets me put the tick mark next to the task, but where do I save it order for the task not to appear again.
If I click on refresh it brings up the tasks again , apparently cant find the save button to mark a task as completed.
Help is much appreciated.

There is no save button, because clicking the checkmark instantly saves the action. To make the task disappear, just press the back button or logo to bounce back to the home screen.
