Secure Connection, OpenID and IE8

I'm new to using Toodledo. I've tried searching the forum for an answer, but there only seem to be old posts discussing my questions.

Firstly, my login details don't seem to use a secure connection. When I look at the registration and login pages, they're both http: pages, not https: pages. I think they redirect to https: pages, but shouldn't the page where I enter my details be a secure page?

Secondly, you still use an older version of OpenID. In several threads a while back, you said you'd be upgrading to the latest version. When do you think you'll upgrade?

Finally, when viewing your homepage in IE8, IE8 normally closes and reopens the tab and occasionally crashes. I normally use Firefox, but thought I'd mention this anyway.

Thanks.

1) The login form submits to an https page, which means that your password is safely encrypted as it is transmitted to our servers. It isn't really necessary to encrypt the blank login page as it is transmitted to you, but if you wish to do this, you can set a bookmark for https://www.toodledo.com/signin.php and always use that page to signin.

2) OpenID hasn't been very popular, so we haven't expended a lot of energy into this area, but it is still on our to-do list.

3) We tested extensively with IE8 and didn't encounter any issues with it closing and reopening tabs or crashing. Are there specific actions that you are taking to cause this to happen?

1) Thanks. You'll have to excuse my ignorance, I thought the login page itself had to be secure.

2) Just wondering whether implementing the latest version of OpenID might make it more popular. Anyway, now that you've answered my first question, I'm not that bothered about OpenID.

3) No specific actions. Just opening IE8 then going to your homepage. The crash only happened once. The opening and closing of the tab happens every time. I haven't downloaded the IE8 compatibility list for a while, so doing that might solve the problem.

Thanks for your swift reply.
