Can completed overdue repeating tasks not skip days?

If an overdue repeating task is completed, why does Toodledo skip the repeat for the current day? Is there any way to indicate a repeating task that must be done daily or made up along with the current days task?
Example write a paragraph daily. If Wed is skipped and not done till Thu, then two paragraphs need to be written on Thu or marking the overdue complete on Thu creates a new task on Thu, not Fri.
How can this be done?

This can be controlled with the "repeat from due-date" and "repeat from completion date" options when editing the repeat value. In your case, you need to select "Repeat from due-date".
