subtask behavior

When I'm looking at my task list, I see subtasks as the same level as their parent task. When I click the structure image on either parent or child task, they associate with each other, and then when I click the parent task structure image they collapse, hiding the child tasks.

I'd like subtasks to stay nested and hidden until I open the parent. I can see a reason for displaying a sub-task, but not the parent task (say if I'm looking at tasks for today only, and a subtask is due but the parent isn't). But if both parent & child are visible, they should be nested, otherwise it seems to defeat the purpose.

If there are people who depend on the current behavior, perhaps it could be settable. Thank you very much.

Subtasks will stay hidden and nested if you are in "folder" view, otherwise they are displayed flat on purpose so you don't miss a subtask that might be urgent. You can read more about our decision here: http://www.toodledo.com/info/subtasks.php
