subtask due dates

I have just started using subtasks with this software and have found when sorting on Due Dates the subtasks get listed by the parent task's date. What I am doing wrong?

If you view subtasks nested inside their parent task, then they will be right below the parent task in the parent's due-date section. If you want to see each subtask in it's own due-date section, then click the "show" button and choose "Subtasks: inline".
