I have 5 repeating tasks per week. Sometimes I get them done early and want to take them off my list. When I mark them complete, they stay uncompleted until the day they are due.

What am i doing wrong?

It sounds like you want to hide future repeating tasks until the day they are due. You can do this using due-date modifiers or start-dates and a filter.
