Is it possible with the iOS app?
With the browser, completed tasks disappear when I refresh the browser. With the iOS app, I have to manually purge, to delete them.

I think you are looking for the "hide completed tasks" filter. You can tap the "Show" button at the top left of your todo list to turn this filter on.
