It would be great if you could configure tasks to inherit the due date from whichever subtask is next due

Thanks for the suggestion. We do not comment on timeframes for implementation, but this is on our to-do list.

Totally agree. Subtasks in indented form (the only way I want to use them) should minimally be sortable by due date, since typically the due date will be sooner than parent tasks, an auto option as suggested makes sense also.
