Subtask due date does not trigger hot list?

I'm new to the pro account. In my experience so far if the parent task has no due date or a far off due date and subtasks have due dates the project will never appear on the hotlist in the indented view. The sub task due date does not trigger it. I would like to have the subtask due date cause the project to appear in the hotlist.

Correct. A subtask will never trigger a parent task to appear in the hotlist. This is something that is on our to-do list. In the meantime, please use flattened view to see if any subtasks are on the hotlist.

I wondered about the same thing (the relationships between parent/subtasks and priority and hotness). Thanks for the answer and look forward to it (especially since I prefer the nested view!)
