Google Gadget in Gmail: Error Message: "Navigation to the webpage canceled."

I did and redid the procedures outlined in the FAQ - i.e., went to Labs and checked the box and added the gadget. I went to IE Internet tools and did the procedure to open up cookies. And, I still get this message. I am Windows 7 and IE 8. Is there some compatibility issue with Win 7? What else can I try?
