While doing a syn with Pocket Informant, I inadvertently synced an older version of a task back to the Toodledo web site. As such, all edits I had made to the task over the last few days were lost. Is it possible to recover the text in a task as it existed several days back?

Sorry, this isn't possible, unless you have kept your own backup using our backup tools.
