iPhone, Completed Tasks and Overdue

When I go into my Overdue folder on my iPhone I see all my previous completed tasks with a green check box. How can I hide those completed tasks from appearing so I can more easily see what is truly overdue? I don't want to delete them as I may have a need in the future to verify whether I had completed a task.
Any insight is appreciated.

Tap on "Hidden Tasks: ##" to open the filters and then tap on "Hide completed tasks"
