Chandler Hub is software hat you run on your computer, so it has direct access to the Calendar. Toodledo runs in the web browser, so we don't have access to your calendar's files.

no, this is incorrect. Chandler is something run on a desktop but Chandler HUB is NOT run on the desktop and open source:

The iCal format is by design a 1-way sync, so there is no way to get changes made in iCal or Google Calendar to get back to Toodledo.

this is true for the older iCal format but not the newer one - under Leopard on OSX the iCal format does allow 2-way sync.

Any possibility that Toodledo will use this and allow 2-way sync?

Bi-directional sync IS possible in iCal Leopard - the Chandler Hub for example makes use of it.

Is there any way (soon), that Toodledo will allow 2-way sync with iCal?

Thanks for any info.

Cultured Code's THINGS - this would be then beauty and great organization.

Actually, what would be best and then also would allow incorporation of THINGS items is 2-way sync with iCal - and with iCal3 this has become easier as that iCal format allows for 2-way sync, such as can be seen with the Google calendar and also the Chandlerproject (Chandler Hub).

THAT would solve all the drawbacks I am currently trying to overcome with having separate great apps but each lacking something.

thanks for the info!

out of curiosity, how does then Culturecode and Things get todo's in and out of iCal?

also, I have a utility, called TimeLog and it's entry are events in iCal and I can modify in either and the changes will reflect on the other end.

are you thinking of having at some point something similar? (it seems Toodledo integrates so nicely with other apps, like Firefox or on the iPhone, thus it would be nice to see something go in that direction too).

thanks!

I've tried (today) all 3 approaches (please correct if I am wrong):

iCal subscription to iCal => gives events and tasks as a 1-way sync
iCal subscription to Google => gives events and tasks as a 1-way sync
ToodleDo gadget in Google => gives an iFrame type interaction sync with ToodleDo (but tasks I entered here do not show in Google calendar).

My question: is there ANY way I can get a 2-way sync going from either Google or iCal?

Sometimes I interact in iCal, sometimes on the web... now it always seems I have 2 ends but can't put them together.

Thanks for any enlightenment.
