@Jake

Thanks a lot for the great app you have created.

- so stable
- couldn't remember a time, it had let me down
- it is so versatile, it matches the need of many people

I wish you all the best for new endeavors

Best regards from Switzerland,
Rolf.

I also think that enhancement of Toodledo's calendar would be great, but is not essential. I also would love to see some sort of two way connection with Google Calendar. However, I think all of this misses the point of why a Thunderbird/Lightning sync would be great, and that is offline access to tasks from the desktop. Note that Lightning does not just add a calendar to Thunderbird, but also a task manager. Currently the only way to get desktop offline access to your tasks from Toodledo is to use the Chromatic Dragon sync tool, and of course that only works if you use Outlook. Outlook is very popular, but the advantage of a Thunderbird sync would be that virtually everyone could have offline access since Thunderbird is free, and works on both PCs and Macs.

Well, that's a dream (of me too). However, the functionality of the Thunderbird/Lightning Task app is SO LIMITED! It would loose the main reason for using Toodledo.

So rather than that, a separat Toodledo Plugin for Thunderbird would be great.
Having the FULL POWER of TOODLEDO, combined with the offline access, the cloud sync and access as well as the whole on various OS platforms.

That would really make a difference!

Joe - it sounds like you are using Toodledo in 'Multi-line' format where most fields are hidden until you expand them. You can switch Toodledo to 'Grid' format where all of your active fields are shown. Then it's just a matter of editing any field in place.

Well, I do use the grid mode, but do not have all possible fields shown. But already used up the available horizontal space.

I want to edit something that I don't want to have to display as a label. For example, I don't use goals much, but it seems like I have to make goals visible, assign a goal to a task, make it invisible, if I forget to set it when I create the task.

This seems really borked to an otherwise elegant app. A small Notepad with pencil edit icon that brings up a form at the top, the same as an Add Task but in Edit Mode, and you save it back. It would take a couple hours to implement.

I can understand that you want to make sure people know that they can edit in place, but sometimes that isn't an option.

Second way to implement, expand all. On a given task you can click expand all to display all fields for that task, not just the configured ones. Then the user can edit in place.

That is exactly the same I am looking for.

Thanks for any help / modification.
