Once I have created a task, is there a way to write a note for that task?

Yes. Click the note icon and an editable box will appear to enter a note.

Along these same lines, is it possible to set 'expand note' as a default, so that the note always stays expanded?
Also, do any of the subscriptions have subtasks that have the checkbox with them? I have the days of the week on my Tasks, and then I use my notes for the actual 'things to do' for each day. It would be nice to be able to have checkboxes in Notes, or a subtasks category. Any thoughts? |

It is not yet possible to have the "expand note" setting be the default, but this is on our to-do list.
As for subtasks, yes subtasks have a checkbox with them. |
