I often get the message below - I am using IE8, but I'm pretty certain i've seen this message with previous IE versions

Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.

It sounds like you have a browser plugin, virus checker, or firewall setting that is interfering with the communication to our website. Do you always get the message when performing certain actions?

Pretty much with anything online I get a little orange circle and then after a while the message above. I have to make all changes on my iPhone and then just use the PC to view tasks - not ideal

It sounds like Norton is blocking our website in a way that is preventing it from working properly.

Switch to Microsoft Security Essentials if you're on a PC. Norton is just horrible -- it just eats all of your PCs resources and in the end, isn't that good. MSE is free! And highly-rated.
