Can someone please explain how the location based alerts (Toodledo App) on iPhone works?
Do I need permanently active GPS (battery issues)?

From my expirience I get location based reminders only on active GPS (iPhone 4)

Thank you!
Best regards
JR

Location Services have to be on for a geofence to work, otherwise, how would your phone know when you crossed that line?

Location based alarms use Apple's location services to determine your location. Apple has a low-power setting which is what we use to prevent battery drain. It is less accurate though, so if you have 2 locations really close together (1-2 miles) then Toodledo will have a hard time telling the difference and may not alarm when you only travel a short distance. If you open the app, it will turn on the GPS briefly to get a more accurate fix and update your location.
