Yeah, I think it would be nice to retire it. I know TD has mentioned the classic version of the site hindering development in other ways. Maybe it is time to let it die and move on :)
It is still there, we just took the link away because it is embarrassingly old and doesn't support any of the new things we have added in the last 2 years. It also causes some things to break. For example, if you edit a due-date on the classic page, it will not adjust the time when our new reminders are sent. It is impossible to retrofit classic with the new functionality. We will be permanently getting rid of it soon, so now is the time to migrate.
FYI, we have been carefully monitoring how people are using our website. Fewer than 1% of our users use classic, so we feel like now is an appropriate time to depreciate it.
Drat ... I guess I was one of the 1% that used it religiously (for entering new tasks). I found it to be a very quick way to enter them. No worries, I'll just learn to do them the new way :)
*Edit: PS -- I never used the "Classic" view to do anything other than enter new tasks. I found that format for entering tasks to be the easiest and fastest. Perhaps we can get a "Classic" task entry method to match that one instead of losing that with the view?

Claudio, I was not aware of that term's special meaning in software, and it seems to apply very well, but Toodledo said "depreciate" not "deprecate". http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/depreciate
