Shade orphan tasks?

I'd really like tasks without parents to be distinct from parent/sub-tasks, preferaby by a different background shading. Has anyone thought of a way of doing this? |

They are distinct in that tasks without children or parents will have the "hand" icon while tasks with children, and subtasks if flattened have the "hierarchy" icon, but your idea is interesting. BTW, have you tried the sort by "task/subtask". |
