From Topic: Toodledo for iOS downgraded
Posted by Purveyor: Posted by aether: Please provide two forks of Toodledo as separate apps available in the App Store. There's still the issue of what to do with features that have been requested for years, e.g. Saved Searches, nested subtasks, full collaboration, and file attachments. Jake said:These four features are at the top of the list and as soon as we get the bugs worked out we will release them to you. http://www.toodledo.com/forums/1/16121/-76747/read.htmlIn which version should these features be implemented? Seems to me that the next version should combine the best of both previous versions and then the new features can start to be implemented. Good question. The "Classic" version is the "state of art", and should receive only bugfixes, only a very limited amount of effort put into it. Whereas the other so-called "Avanced" version can be used to enhance the features of the app, e.g. themes integration, other sort of user interaction, another way of displaying information. From a salesman point of view, you would generate more income providing two versions while avoiding frustrating user experience. There are evidently more than one user target groups. Providing only one app will cause more problems an will have negative effect to the sales income. Also it's not very clear to differentiate the different user needs. I can imagine, some of future "apple usability" users will be disappointed and write a bad review, thus lowering the rating. From experiences, there are fewer good reviews of happy customers. Providing two versions will avoid these troubles, generate more income, help to differentiate the need and criticism of the two "layout" user groups, and will help to focus the development on the advanced app. |

From Topic: Solution to the layout redesign problem
Very important proposal Please provide two forks of Toodledo as separate apps available in the App Store. This would address the huge need for the old layout which has been appraised by numerous medias as a perfect example of good usability and which also blend perfectly to the iphone usability. It is easy to understand how to interact with the app. And also provide the new app layout as a separate app. So you can better differentiate the customer criticism and feedback coming from these two groups of "layout"people. Why not provide a Toodledo Classic 3.0 app, and a Toodledo Advanced app? Also I would like to hear from everyone, if this would be a good compromise. This message was edited Dec 12, 2012. |

From Topic: iphone 5 - wrong touch zones?
If I have to change the sort criteria, e.g. in the hotlist viewer, I cannot touch directly on the criteria area, but have to lower my finger about 2 millimetres down to hit the criteria area. Or If I want to touch directly on "show", which is located below the back button, I activate only the back button. If anyone experience similiar troubles with the touch zones, please confirm shortly here (post). Experienced with iphone 5, ios 6.01, newest brownish version of toodledo app. |

From Topic: AACK. New iPhone app awful fonts
@Sabina A. I can only support Jim's summary of all usability problems. I am a long time toodledo pro supporter but this unreadable usability is an ABSOLUTE NOOOO-GOOOO!!! My iphone is dimmed to 50%, and I cannot perceive any informational hierarchy as it used to be. => Enhance color contrast!! => Simplify Design usability => Allways think to the USER EXPERIENCE GUIDELINE (http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/userexperience/conceptual/mobilehig/UEBestPra ctices/UEBestPractices.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40006556-CH20-SW1) Your old Design was far one of the best I saw and accounted for your tremendous success as the most sophisticated todo app, yet very easy to use. Will this success story continue? |
